The success of this position is reliant on face-to-face interaction and requires 100% on-site work within the first 90 days. Upon completion of the first 90 days, this position is eligible for our hybrid remote work program which allows employees to work remotely two days a week. This position has flexibility in choosing which two days, in addition to Wednesday, will be worked in the Rockville, MD office.
Responsibilities
The Staff Accountant performs accounting support and administrative work in classifying and processing accounting transactions, maintaining and reconciling assigned accounts and compiling, reviewing and verifying data and information to prepare assigned financial and accounting reports; provides direction to assigned accounting support staff.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 year College Degree required in Accounting, Business, or related field and 1 year of experience working with general ledger, reconciliation, month-end closing, general accounting processes of inter-company and fixed assets OR 4 year College Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field.
- Thorough understanding of accounting functions.
- General knowledge of accounting systems.
- Working knowledge of MS Office. Proficient in Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Proficient in data entry.
PREFERENCES:
- PeopleSoft experience.
