Since the pandemic started, EagleBank has prioritized the health and safety of its employees, and this position is eligible for our hybrid remote work program which allows employees to work from home two days a week. This position has flexibility in choosing which two days, in addition to Wednesday, will be worked in the Rockville, MD office.


Underwrite new and existing commercial loans through analysis of borrower’s credit history, financial performance, current market trends, collateral, and feasibility. Spreads and analyzes financial statements, real estate spreadsheets, tax returns, A/R & A/P agings and proformas/forecasts for C&I, Commercial Real Estate, and SBA loan requests.

Deals will generally be larger and vary in complexity from Commercial Credit Underwriter I or II. The number of analyst tasks and degree of difficulty will be rated generally moderate to advanced. Supports Lending Department by providing personal and business credit reports, property values based on third party data and industry analysis as needed.


  • Consistently provide excellent customer services to external and internal customers.
  • Prepares detailed narrative and risk analysis of C&I/CRE/SBA/B2B loan requests in timely manner.
  • Spreads and analyzes financial statements/tax returns, real estate spreadsheets, A/R & A/P.
  • Maintains strong working relationships both internally and externally to obtain critical data.
  • Provides personal and business credit reports, property values, and industry analysis.
  • Trains and mentors new and current analysts as needed.
  • Completes due diligence for current and potential bank vendors and investment companies.
  • Completes annual review for loans secured by owner occupied real estate properties.
  • Regularly participates in bank vendor training and special projects assigned by manager as needed.
  • May attend MLC meetings to provide additional insight as needed to senior management.
  • Identifies risks/mitigants and makes recommendations to senior management regarding additional credit enhancements to mitigate credit risk.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field in lieu of 3 additional years of experience in commercial credit, financial statement analysis and formal credit training.
  • 5 years of analysis in commercial credit or middle-market experience
  • Web-based credit training through RMA or Omega or similar programs required

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Leadership or supervision experience
  • Other banking experience helpful
  • Formal credit training program

Preferred Certifications, Licenses or systems needed :

  • Experience with spreading software

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • General working knowledge of MS Office
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong logic and math skills
