Responsible for managing the activities of assigned credit staff professionals to include coaching, training and performance management. The Commercial Credit Supervisor will also take an active role in underwriting new and existing commercial loans.


  • Performs all managerial related tasks including performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, interviewing, hiring of candidates and provide necessary training and coaching. Assesses skills and abilities to leverage team performance and provide targeted coaching to help improve associate skills and career growth and ongoing direct one-on-one coaching. Provide Oversight and insures quality control over the teams work
  • Assigns and monitors underwriting workflow and conducts quality reviews of staff production.
  • Assists Credit Operations Manager in preparing monthly reports.
  • Prepares detailed narrative, risk analysis, spreads, and analyzes financial documents for credit worthiness on an as needed basis when volume is high. Identifies risks/mitigants and makes recommendations to senior management regarding additional credit enhancements to mitigate credit risk.
  • Maintains strong working relationships both internally and externally to obtain critical data.
  • Evaluates and assist individual loan risks through portfolio managers of and participation in the quarterly loan surveillance program
  • Identifies risks/mitigants and makes recommendations to underwriting managers regarding additional credit enhancements to mitigate credit risk
  • Manages special credit-related projects and coordinates department level training.
  • Attends MLC meetings to provide additional insight as needed to senior management.
  • .May serve as backup to Credit Operations Manager, when necessary.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field
  • 8 years of related commercial credit and financial statement analysis experience
  • Formal credit training required
  • Training in financial spreading software
  • 2 years of previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Omega Training certification may be required based upon assigned specialty
  • Strong knowledge of credit process and underwriting guidelines.
  • Good leaderships skills
  • General working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Understanding of risk analysis and credit tracking software.
