Lending

The Portfolio Administrator acts as a liaison between the bank and the customer to ensure the appropriate and expedient processing and booking of new loans and Letters of Credit. This includes reviewing the loan approval and borrower information to confirm that the necessary requirements are met prior to submitting a loan package for documentation and closing; reviewing the final loan documents to ensure compliance with the loan approval; coordinating the closing of loans with internal and external customers and vendors; and initiating and overseeing the loan funding and booking process.

The Portfolio Manager, in conjunction with one or more Relationship Managers, actively manages, services and grows each assigned loan portfolio. The Portfolio Manager may independently drive the credit process by facilitating the collection of financial information from clients and prospects, overseeing the credit analysis and underwriting of credit, preparing and submitting credit packages for the approval of new loans and for the renewal of existing loans, working with the Relationship Manager(s) to draft term sheets/loan proposals, reviewing loan documents, both internally and attorney prepared, for accuracy prior to loan closing and the day-to-day management of upcoming maturities, past dues and documentation exceptions.

The Relationship Manager is responsible for the generation and management of a large and complex loan and deposit portfolio for new and existing clients. The Relationship Manager evaluates the client’s needs and aligns those requirements with the appropriate bank products and product partners; performs the initial vetting and structure of loan transactions, including the preparation of term sheets; directs the underwriting of loan transactions, including the analysis of financial statements, and presents credit packages to the appropriate parties for approval.

The department includes Loan Funding (review and disbursement of new loan funds), Loan Production (booking new loans and modifications onto the IBS system), and Loan Exceptions (tracking and imaging of on-going loan documents and financial information). Loan Administration also assists other areas of the Bank with reporting on the loan portfolio and with the review and updating of loan policies and procedures.
