We understand the need to be creative and flexible when it comes to telecommuting and other alternative work arrangements. This position is eligible for our hybrid remote work program which allows employees to work remotely two days a week. This position has flexibility in choosing which two days, in addition to Wednesday, will be worked in the Bethesda, MD office. The option of working from Washington, DC or Tyson's Corner, VA officers is available.

Responsibilities

The C&I Portfolio Underwriting Manager oversees the loan underwriting and portfolio management responsibilities of the group. Works closely with the Senior Underwriting Manager, RMs and Market Executives to ensure adequate portfolio management coverage across the department. Reviews loan analysis and modification memorandums to ensure consistency of C&I underwriting standards and completeness of underlying assessment. Provides assistance to RM teams when structuring and sizing prospective loan transactions. Manages the PM team through the quarterly surveillance process.

Our Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Team proudly serves the businesses of our local community. We offer competitive, Commercial Loans and Lines of Credit, Treasury Solutions, Acquisition Financing, Equipment Leasing, Owner Occupied Commercial Real Estate, Small Business Lending, SBA, and Other Financing solutions. Our teams propose value add solutions that are creative and flexible to help small and middle market businesses’ goals become a reality.

The Lending Team is divided by region, with a Market Executive leading each of our teams. The core competency of the bank’s lenders runs to all types of businesses, including government contracting, non-profits, bond financing for schools and other organizations, healthcare, and professional service firms.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or related field.
  • 10 years of experience in portfolio management and commercial underwriting including structuring and pricing loan transactions. Must be proficient in evaluating commercial credit risk.
  • Formal or in-house credit training required.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Proficient in evaluating real estate credit risk.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Strong comminications skills.
  • Strong credit/underwriting knowledge.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Preferences:

  • Previous supervisor or leadership experience.
